8 cells Aspire One battery only last 4.5 hours

Acer has the best selling netbook on the market with its Aspire One. The company has announced a new version of the netbook called the Acer Aspire One 10 that has a larger 10-inch screen. The first real problem for the netbook was the sort of problem buyers will like as the first set of netbooks shipped has a higher capacity battery.

The first group of Aspire One Tens has a 6-cell battery with 5800mAh of power. The battery that was supposed to go in the netbook offers 6-cells but only has 4400mAh of power. Laptop Magazine tested an early One 10 sample with the larger capacity battery and found the thing ran for nearly eight hours on a single charge. Latitude D600 battery

When the 4400mAh battery that was supposed to be in the system showed up and testing got underway, laptop found that it lasted a much less robust 4 hours and 24 minutes. That runtime isn’t bad, but when you consider that Asus makes Eee systems with longer run time for only a bit more the Aspire One 10 doesn’t look as good as it used to. Acer trust me you just need to ship the machines with the 5800mAh battery and be done with it.

Previously on As The Battery Life Turns, we tested the battery that came with our review unit of the Acer Aspire One 10-inch and got a result of 7 hours and 57 minutes, which blew away every other netbook battery out there. This was due not only to the number of cells in the battery (6) but the high capacity of the cells (5800-mAh/milliamp-hours).

Oh, but wait.

We then discovered that the Aspire One was supposed to ship with a lower capacity battery — still six cells, but only 4400-mAh. The better laptop battery will only come with the first batch of Aspire Ones, so customers that pre-ordered them may get lucky. Everyone else will get the “normal” battery. VGP-BPS5

This week we were finally able to test the 4400-mAh battery most Aspire Ones will come with. We previously predicted that it would get between 4.5 and 5.5 hours. The result?

(cue Dramatic Pause)

4:24.

Yes, it is a bit disappointing, but 4:24 is still decent, particularly for a $350 netbook. However, for $50 more you can buy the Eee PC 1000HE that gets more than 7 hours (and has a much improved keyboard).

Just order a new 10-inch aspire one, you will find that its OEM 3 cell battery is too weak ( only can work about 2-3 hours). There are some extend aspire one batteries in the market as 6cells 4400mAh, 6Cells 5800mAh, 9cells 6600mAh. Their work time with wi-fi is 4400mAh 5-6 hours, 5800mAh ( inspiron 1300 battery) 8 hours, 6600mAh 9 hours. You can select one of these to meet your work or fun requirement.

But in my opinion, the 6cell 4400mAh aspire one battery is the best, as it can work about 6 hours that means we have enough time to deal our works or watch a movie. Also it only has 4400mAh 6cells, so its weight is the light as its notebook. You can easily take it to any place. The 6600mAH 9cells aspire onr battery is too heavy that it is strang to meet the light aspire one notebook.

In the beginning, the aspire one battery price is too expensive as its notebook. From engadge t: We fully understand that time is money, but damn. With quite a few folks up in arms over the $50 to $100 price hike on the 6-cell MSI Wind over the standard 3-cell version, we can only imagine the outcries that will come after seeing this. CDW has a product page up that describes an Acer Li-ion 6-cell 5,200mAh battery that’s designed to fit snugly within the $379.99 Acer Aspire One netbook. Let’s see here — a $119.99 battery for a $379.99 computer. Is that the absurdity alarm sounding, or are our ears still ringing from all the weekend revelry? Also The VGP-BPS2 battery is only $120 .

Now the aspire one battery reduced , you can spend $76.53 and £56.17 or less to get it.
